Johnny Sharp
Johnny Sharp is a British journalist who covers music, sport and true crime. He has contributed several stories about UK serial killers to Time Warner’s Crime Library and for Bizarre magazine in the UK. He is a regular contributor to several British newspapers and to BBC Online, most recently writing about the authorities’ continuing demonization of youth cults for The Guardian.
Although his background is not primarily crime writing or law enforcement, he developed a keen interest in the “The Monster of Florence” case while traveling in Italy in the late 1980s, and has since followed the seemingly never-ending investigation for over 20 years. He says: “Of all the unsolved murder cases in criminal history, this is surely every bit as fascinating and extraordinary as Jack The Ripper or the Black Dahlia. Also, the links between this case to the recent Amanda Knox/Rafaele Sollecito trial show that the Italian justice system continues to be a strange and dangerous one for anyone to be caught up in.”
